John Gibson is a 25 year veteran of the IT industry with focus on product marketing and sales of enterprise mobility and AIDC solutions. With a unique combination of deep technical expertise and market knowledge, John can be a trusted advisor in any customer encounter.

Before founding Pacific Identity, John was working with Korean vendors of enterprise mobility hardware and solutions to establish their presence in the American market. For three years he was the vice president of sales in the Americas for the Korean company M3 Mobile, growing the business from scratch to a $3M business. Later he joined the American-owned distributor Yellowfin Distribution as the vice president and general manager, focusing on building a reseller network of 38 VARs in the North America for Pidion BlueBird, a Korean mobile computing company.
Prior to joining M3, John was a senior director of product management, systems & software with Checkpoint Systems. In this role he led the development of the Evolve program, Checkpoint's latest state-of-art EAS and deactivation systems for retail stores. The system was launched globally and more than 1,000 sites were installed in the first ten months. Previously, John held leading product marketing roles with PSC and Symbol Technologies (now Motorola).

As a director of mobile, wireless and RFID products with PSC he contributed to the business growing from $9M to $19 million in 18 months, which included the launch of the Falcon PDA and PDT. As a director of global product marketing with Symbol Technologies he led the launch of the MC9000 series. It reached $180 million USD in revenue during the first year and is with over 2 million sold units the most ever sold rugged mobile computer. During his time with Symbol, John was part of a core team that developed the mobile computing business from $250M to $800M in six years. Additionally, he helped to fuel the company’s growth by expanding the global markets in Europe, Asia-Pacific and South Africa through developing and maintaining effective business relationships internally and externally.

Before joining Symbol, John held several marketing positions with companies such as Schlumberger Electronic transactions RPS, Spectra-Physics Scanning Systems Inc., and Fujitsu-ICL. At Spectra-Physics he was responsible for the development and launch of the original Magellan scanner and scale in 1994.
